To stalk or not to stalk

asparagus

If you are among the asparagus aficionados of the world, cooking's well-known retailer, Williams Sonoma, has a trio of gadgets just for you.

The asparagus peeler is designed to follow the curves of the stalk and peel away only what's minimally necessary to remove the rough outer skin, leaving you with as much of the succulent innards as possible.

The tall asparagus colander is the perfect shape to facilitate easy washing, steaming, or draining your tender green stalks. Also works well with leeks, whole carrots, or corn on the cob.

The cleverly crafted asparagus tongs drain the asparagus and keep a tight grip on the slippery stalks.

If you are really an asparagus nut, you can go beyond the treo above and splurge on the All-Clad asparagus steamer pot!
