Simple toggle on/off light

toggle-light.jpg

We love this super simple home lighting design from Yonggu Do, which was featured on Yanko Design today. It plays on the look of the simple toggle switch and there's something very quirky and retro about it!

Brush hooks for coats and keys

brush-hooks.jpg

We've come across a lot of cute little hooks and wall storage devices before, but these paintbrushes have to be one of our favourite solutions. Created by designer Dominic Wilcox, they've been made really stiff so you can hang coats or keys on them.

Bath-o-matic can be controlled remotely

bathomatic-bath.jpg

Today we came across a brilliant new idea from the Unique Automation company, an automatic bath!

Dubbed the bath-o-matic, the cutting edge 'bath management system', allows home owners to turn on their baths regardless of where they happen to be. We can imagine it'd be ideal if you're travelling home after a long day and just want to jump straight in without having to wait around.

You're not just able to turn your bath on and off either, you can decide on the temperature, as well as whether you want bubbles or not. Perfect.

The company's main aim is to bring all kinds of automated solutions into our lives and it wants to start with the home, specifically the bathroom. Find out more about bath-o-matic and Unique Automation's other products, like the bath-o-vision and the iShower over on its official website.

Pod Space office gardens

micro-pod.jpg

These incredible little garden offices are known as Pod Spaces and come in five different sizes and designs, from the cosy Micro Pod through to the Eco Pod, which is probably bigger than some houses!

Unfortunately the smallest pod costs around $17,663 and the larger version is even more crazily priced at $55,065.

Medical Shower adds medicinal herbs to your wash

medical-shower.jpg

It's not always possible to dedicate enough time to a long bath, so the Medical Shower concept has been designed to provide users with a soothing, refreshing and herbal shower experience that's just as relaxing and soothing.

The device has a specially designed shower head, which allows you to add a small amount of herbs to a teabag-like sachet which is placed into the centre of the device. This then acts as a kind of filter and the water becomes infused with the aromatic and medicinal herbs.

The Medical Shower was an IDEA 2011 winner created by several innovative designers.

The colorful Wire Ball cable tidy

wire-ball.jpg

We're always on the look out for handy new ways to keep our desks and electronic equipment tidy. In fact we probably spend more time looking for these kinds of practical solutions than we do working!

So, we were happy to find the Wire Ball on Swiss Miss this morning, a colorful little sphere designed to hold up to 5 feet of cable, now that's an impressive cable tidy!

Radi_O intuitive concept radio

radio-concept.jpg

Some of the most impressive and innovative designs that we've featured here on Popgadget aren't the ones that are the biggest, brightest and loudest, but those that are just beautifully simple and understated. The Radi-O concept from Sunyung Yang is just that, a clean and simple radio that you can control by swiping your finger around the top rim. Simple, intuitive and definitely one for the wish list.

The Celcius kitchen waste concept

celsius-kitchen1.jpg

The Celcius is a kitchen system which makes recycling even more efficient for your home, by allowing you to dispose of waste which then heats selected appliances as it begins to break down.

The Celcius system is only a concept for now, but certainly seems like an effective way to dispose of waste and continue to use the energy long afterwards.

Saporiti writes messages in your bookcase

bookcase-design.jpg

Minimalist Italian interior design and furniture company Saporiti has put a quirky twist on its usual bookcase design, by spelling out 'read your bookcase' within the shelves.

We can't find the specific details of this design on Saporiti's website, but we hope that it's a range which is coming soon and also allows you to spell whatever you'd like.

So assuming you'd have to stick to the 4 x 4 structure, what words would inspire you to read? Stop open your mind?

Clever rainwater collector is also a vertical garden

gota-verde.jpg

Rainwater collectors are usually small tubs or little pipes that run into a larger reservoir within your home. However, this clever rainwater design called Gota Verde, or Green Drop, aims to turn your rainwater collector into something that isn't just practical, but looks good too.

The Gota Verde works by collecting water from a roof through a series of small tubes, these then feed the rainwater into a large tank behind the structure. The water is then fed to the plants that grow up the front automatically, or it can be sprayed onto them manually with a hose pipe. As the plants grow they cover the front of the collector, turning it into an indoor vertical garden.

The Gota Verde is only a prototype at the moment, but certainly works to change the way we look at rain collectors and indoor gardens. I imagine it'd be a huge hit among those with city apartments with only a small amount of balcony or kitchen space that want a little piece of greenery inside their homes.
