Fiber optic nightlight

fibernightlight.jpg
When I was little my sister plastered my bedroom ceiling with those glow-in-the-dark stick-on stars because they were supposed to calm you into sleep as they slowly faded. I guess they didn't work all that well considering how many nights I watched those stars fade out and then come back into view with the morning sunlight but I still like the idea of a soothing light source because I don't like to sleep in pitch darkness.

The fiber optic nightlight from Harriet Carter flashes in multiple colors from a plume of hair-thin fibers. The strands don't actually move, but the changing colors have an undulating effect, which hopefully can hypnotically induce sleep.

$9.95 from Harriet Carter. From bookofjoe.
