On Thursday I went to the International Furniture Fair in Milan. Here's a small small sample of what I liked.

First stop was at PromiseDesign, a show about new design from Israel.

The orange forms hanging from the ceiling are lightings made with processed pipes. The horrible picture certainly doesn't do justice to the work, but give me the best camera in the world and you can bet I'll make pathetic images with it.

Inspired by Nature are reinforced concrete tiles to be laid as stepping stones in a garden path, the perforated pattern of flower stems and foliage fills over time with moss, grass and weeds.

Rolling potty that comes with toilet paper dispenser...

and a rocking horse stool made with a bicycle frame.

The surface of this electric hot plate is made of four hundred small heating bodies. Each body is turned on by weight. So a pot put on the hot plate will turn only the heating bodies underneath.

When a meal is ready, you can serve the food in these ceramic plates and munch as slowly as you want (or have to, they say it helps slimming) because the plates have decorative motifs that are electrially conductive to keep food warm.

A rather funny two-part vase to expose more of your flowers (can't explain why I had the feeling the flowers were "naked") and a ceramic washbasin in the shape of a bucket.
