Diamond Weather Station

So, it's officially winter and, therefore, as important as ever to keep a close eye on the forecast. Now you can do it with style!
Sparkling away with dozens of Swarovski Crystals™, the Diamond Weather Station from Oregon Scientific adds a bit of glamour to the world of otherwise… shall we say… 'conservative' electronic weather forecasters. The crystals light up brightly in one of three different patterns / colors – red sun, blue cloud, or green rain – to clue you in to what to expect from the sky in the coming hours.
This beautiful unit Features a remote sensor to transmit outdoor temperature to the display and a digital clock that auto-syncs with the Naval atomic clock for precision time. A quick wave of your hand over the top of the unit switches the display between time, indoor temperature, and outdoor temperature, or you can put it in an automatic mode.
But wait! We've saved the best feature for last… If you utter the enclosed incantation while waving your hand over the unit, you can change the weather to… well… okay… not really on this one. You can still be prepared and be stylish, though.

The Path to Nirvana is in Your Bathroom
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, Nivana is "a place or state of oblivion to care, pain, or external reality." It has also been described as heaven or pure bliss. Fitting then that this beauty of a bathtub has been christened the Nirvana bathtub. This spa-level bathroom fixture lights your personal path to enlightenment via strategically placed LEDs that give the impression that you're bathing among the stars.

But the Nirvana bathtub is more than luxury covered in pretty lights. It's also eco-friendly, using approximately 60% less water than comparable tubs of its size due largely to the shallow high-grade translucent acrylic shape. In addition, the Nirvana features touch controls via a panel that controls an electronic tap and automatic water fill/stop function. Other controls include the motion sensitive hand shower, activated by a simple wave of a hand and the light controls, because sometimes you Nirvana is best reached without all the fanfare.
No word yet on whether this luxe tub is destined to remain a concept or whether it will be helping bathrooms worldwide transcend their lowly existence.

The Incredible Folding Vase
It's always good to have a vase or two around for all those random flowers from our many admirers, but more often than not, those big elaborate vases can monopolize a lot of space. Ohio-based company VazuUSA has come up with a clever and environmentally friendly solution. Unlike like traditional glass vases, the Vazu vase is an expandable piece of furniture.

Created from layers of heat-welded Polyethylene and Polyester, Vazu vases have the unique ability to be folded for easy storage and transport. By heat-welding the layers, the result is a material that has a bright glossy look similar to glass, but is virtually unbreakable. The manufacturing process used to make Vazu is less taxing on the environment than a regular glass vase.
The Vazu vase comes in a variety of colors and styles. With prices starting at $4.99, they make great gifts and are a inexpensive way to decorate the home.

Toshiba Tries to Make Digital Photo Frames Cool
Since their arrival on the tech scene, consumer electronic companies have been trying to sell the public on digital picture frames -- trying to convince how cool they really are. And despite numerous attempts and feature additions including being able to send photos wirelessly or the ability to create slideshows, we still haven't jumped on the digital photo frame album. Toshiba is hoping to finally make a decidedly lame product somewhat cool.

Old or excess shopping bags make great new pillows
Like most people who are even the slightest bit environmentally-conscious, I have a number of canvas bags to use when I go out . (In theory that is. In practice I never seem to have any with me when a spontaneous shopping urge hits). In fact, I may even have too many bags, and at least a couple are looking a little worn. But throwing them away would defeat their purpose, so what should I do?

One option would be to get inspired by this picture from NotCot and make my own cushions. I've confessed before that crafts are not my strong suit, but this project looks simple enough even for me (stuff pillows into the bags and you're done) and appeals to my desire for offbeat and unique decor. I might take it a step further and cut off the straps and sew up the ends..

Disco coffee table will light up your life... or house, anyway
I'm a sucker for pretty much all home decor that looks like it was inspired by the 1970s disco era, but even I would draw the line at a flashing dance floor in the middle of my living room. On grounds of cost if nothing else.
A good compromise would be this groovy multicolored light-up table which looks expensive but is actually a DIY project involving a $50 Ikea table and a lot of LEDs.

Make one of these (or get someone to make one for you), then you can turn off the lights, turn on the table, crank your Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, kick back with a snowball (that's a cocktail, in case you're too young to remember) and you have yourself a party.
Just don't try to dance on the table, will you?

Organic sandwich bag makes lunchtime more stylish and sustainable
If you go out to work (what's that like? I can't remember) you're probably not splashing out on lunches in coffee shops or restaurants in the same way you used to (not unless someone else is paying, at least). But not only is taking a fresh brown bag every day not so stylish, it's not so good for the environment either - even if you do recycle it afterwards.

But a good-looking resuable organic sandwich bag is another matter. This one from Bebeloosh on Etsy is just $5.99 and is stylish and cute, so should appeal to adults and children alike.
