Diamond and gold MP3 player for dogs

Can't decide what to get your pooch for Christmas this year?
Consider the JooZoo, this heart-shaped 18K gold and diamond encrusted MP3 player necklace created by Korean company Innobitz. It's touted as being able to "enhance your pet’s physical health and relieve stress through automatic content responding to various pet behaviors."

I don't see any doggie headphones included with the player, so "MP3 player" is a bit of a misnomer if you ask me. The high-end canine accessory does come with a remote control and some sort of charger/speaker combination, though, so maybe you and your furry pal can still rock out together (assuming "sound wave stimulation" gets your toes tapping, of course).
At the moment, the JooZoo is available only in Korea, but with U.S. pricing estimated between $1500 and $2000, I guess it doesn't matter.

Colorful mini apple MP3 players

I guarantee that when your kids are talking about those new Apple DAPs, they aren't talking about these.
I don't know why not, really, as the Super Mini Apple style MP3 Players not only boast a catchy name, but also come in appetizingly realistic fruit colors like purple and black. And unlike the competition, these actually look like apples. Everything a trendy teen needs to fit in at school!
The 1GB ($30) and 2GB ($38) players support MP3, WMA, and WAV files (with lyrics display) and feature seven preset equalizers, various play modes, and a 10-hour runtime off a single AAA battery. Tasty!

Oakley Split THUMP sunglasses

Oakley has a new pair of sunglasses with incorporated MP3 player on the market, and while I like the style I'm not sure I'd want to pay over $200 for them -- I’d rather spend that kind of money on a regular MP3 player. Though, I can definitely see how Split THUMP can be rather appealing if you practice outdoor activities like mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, etc., on a regular basis.
The sunglasses come in different frame color and lense type combinations, and of course in different storage sizes for your MP3s. The cheapest model includes 512 MB storage capacity and costs $ 249.00; other models can store up to 1 GB (for $ 299.00) and 2 GB (for $ 399.00) of music. Split THUMP is compatible with AAC (.m4a), MP3, WMA, WMA with DRM 9.0, and WAV formats.
The sunglasses’ wireless earplugs can be removed when not needed and the player’s controls are seamlessly incorporated into the icons. The glasses ship with a USB cable that can be used (or better, will have to be used) to charge the gadget’s batteries. Yep, that’s right, Oakley decided not to include a regular wall or car charger in the deal; instead, you can purchase them separately for “just” $45 and $35.

Mini Guitar MP3 player

These look like a real guitar and amp, but are miniatures - a 1GB MP3 player and guitar amp speakers. The guitar comes with headphones, guitar lanyard, and a real guitar pick with which you can pick out tunes on the miniature guitar. Perhaps not the most practical music player, but may be a fun gift for collectors of miniatures.
Available at GadgetBox for £49.99 ($102).

Playing music goes retro with the Cassette MP3 player

I haven’t seen the retro look blend better with any product in a long time than it does with the Cassette MP3 player. This gadget looks like a normal cassette tape on the outside but is actually an mp3 player. The camouflage design is not without functional advantages too – not only do you get the cool retro look with the cassette casing, but you can also use the player as a car cassette, or with any cassette player, or as a normal mp3 player.

You're going to want one - New Sony Walkman Video MP3 Player

SONY saw the light -- or heard the music -- and has dropped their proprietary SonicStage, so the spankin' new SONY Walkman is open to more file formats. By supporting playback of MP3 and WMA DRM and non-DRM audio files downloaded from multiple sources, it finally becomes a desirable player.
Weighing less than 2 ounces, but with the capacity to store up to 4,500 songs, 8 hours of video or hundreds of photographs, the 8GB Walkman® Video MP3 player has pretty much everything and still fits in your pocket. The sleek, compact design has an expensive feel and the screen is big and bright. The user interface is intuitive, so it's easy to switch from playlists to FM radio or photos or video playback. Long battery life, too.
Good sound quality, but of course the ear buds suck.
$179 at Sony now.

A Halo-Themed Zune to match fatigues

In a feeble effort to support the troops, Microsoft is putting out a special new brown Zune which will feature fancy Halo artwork and will come pre-loaded with artwork, trailers and music from all three Halo games.
Outside of the 300 players they handed out to a group of soldiers who recently left for active duty, these devices will be available for sale exclusively at "military retail stores."
Microsoft magnanimously is selling the Halo-Themed Zune military personnel and their families for a "discounted rate," but the discount rate is unknown. A regular Zune usually sells for $250.
Why aren't they just giving the Zunes to them you ask? That was my question too.
