High security cloth bag

Boffins at the John Hopkins University have developed a cloth bag made from an electronic fabric that not only resists tampering, but also sounds an alarm or sends an alert to the owner and authorities.

The cloth can be designed to support a variety of electronic components and can be sewn into many shapes. Once fashioned into the appropriate device, the cloth can be programmed to respond differently to a variety of situations. The owner of a bag that secures a laptop computer, for example, might wirelessly link it to an alarm system, which can sound if the bag is moved or tampered with. It could also trigger a video camera to record the intrusion or place a call to the owner's phone to alert them of the breach.
