Popgadget reader Megan, who has an appreciation for the absurd, sent a link to an article from UniqueDaily.com, "The Crazy Beauty Products That Come From Japan." It's hard to believe some of these products are actually available for sale, the whole list sounds like a hoax (but is it?). I've seen some products on store shelves, here and abroad, that aren't that dissimilar.

This cheek toner looks ridiculous, but not anymore ridiculous than a product I once saw in a Suzanne Somers infomercial (an electrical device marketed as a non-surgical face lift treatment -- and at three in the morning, I was deliriously impressed with the before and after photos). This toner looks to be more basic, a manual face lift device.

If your chin easily touches your collar bone, you might want this neck-elongating device. I wonder how many hours you'd have to wear this to gain a quarter inch of additional neck length.

This one's my favorite, a model leg shaper to cure slight bowl-leggedness (I think I have this condition and it's bothered me all of my life).

It would take a gargantuan amount of self-discipline to even slighty change your body with these silly devices, and in today's plastic surgery-obsessed culture, I don't think many people would have the patience.
