Scientists create camera that can see around corners
There are some pretty advanced cameras on the market nowadays, check out the Lytro, a device that allows you to focus your shots AFTER you've taken them. Cool, huh? But we weren't expecting scientists at MIT to create a camera that can actually see around corners anytime soon...
Well a new camera is being developed that sends light pulses to blind spots in order to work out the position of objects even if they can't be seen, meaning we can take photos of things round corners with ease. Think of it a little like sonar, but with light.
Check out the video above for a detailed rundown of exactly how it works. In the meantime let's cross our fingers that the clever ' corner camera' will be around in time for us to add it to our Christmas lists at the end of the year!
