The Kindle is set to be really popular this Christmas, but some people may find its lack of lighting a bit annoying. So, we love this idea called the Kapsule Lightstand, which is currently on Kickstarter.
It acts as a cute little light and a Kindle stand, to make reading easier wherever you are and whichever light you're reading in.
The Kapsule Lightstand is currently on Kickstarter, so check it out to pledge $40 for one yourself.
Trying to keep a pair of sunglasses on a toddler can be like getting your cat to wear a festive costume. (Ever see a Kitty that enjoyed dressing up?)
Given the dangers of UV radiation though, kiddies need to learn early to rock some shades.
(The American Optometric Association warns that "the effects of UV radiation are cumulative. This means the longer your eyes are exposed to UV radiation, the greater the risk of developing such conditions as cataracts or macular degeneration in later life.")
Enter Eyes Cream Shades who make quality sun glasses for the younger set in bright, fun colors and fashion-forward designs. No need to tell them that they provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Little girls can dress up like Mom in the Mint Ice - Cat Eye Walk Kids Sunglasses ($24.95) or your teen can sport the trendy Licorice Ice -- Divalicious Teen Sunglasses($34.99.)
For babies, there's the Banana - Trends N Bends Baby/Toddler Sunglasses, made of durable, matte yellow rubber frame that bend easily to prevent breakage. ($24.95.)
It's never to early to start protecting your muchkin's eyes. Or to stop dressing up kitty Cat.
Michelle Obama shops at Target and our President likes video games. While out browsing for gifts, Mr. Obama picked up a copy of Sims 3 Pets this week. (We're not sure, but it's probably for one of his children.) In what other country can you shop shoulder to shoulder with the leader of the free world? (Ok, so there were tons of secret service people around, unless the staff at Best Buy has taken to wearing suits and earpieces.)
Our President should give the game a whirl though. With Sims Pets 3 you can create your own perfect—or imperfect—pets for your Sims, from fierce guard dogs to destructive kittens to loving horses. Not only can you can control how your Sims’ pets look, but their personality traits as well. (Go whole hog and get the Limited Edition to treat your Sims and their pets to an exclusive venue filled with unique objects.)
The last Sims game we raved about was Sims Medieval
but now we're hooked on Sims Pets.
Maybe the Prez will invite us over for a friendly game?
This clever carabiner clip screws into your iPhone and lets you charge it while it's attached. You can then clip it onto things, carry it around and keep it on a camera strap too.

There are plenty of great bluetooth keyboards available for those working with tablet devices or tiny netbooks, but we love this Levitatr keyboard, which has elevating, LED backlit keys that raise up when you need them.
Not only does this look pretty cool, but it means you can carry it around in your bag with your laptop without worrying about the keys getting damaged.
Available from Levitatr for $99.
As much as we try to keep our gadgets away from our kids, most of the time we have to give in and let them play around with their favourite apps.
This Christmas there are lots of lovely apps available to keep the little ones amused, and we love the classic 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' interactive book, which works with your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The app is specially made to help kids read by highlighting words, accompanying the story with professional narration, lots of audio, bright and colourful illustrations and a great deal of interactive features too.
It may not be a free app, but there are lots of great features alongside the brilliant Dr. Seuss story.
Available from iTunes for $3.99.

We love this idea from Bone Collection, which is essentially just a mini lead for your phone called the iPhone 4S Tail.
It's got a tough silicone case and a wrist strap too, which will let you hang onto your phone and keep it safe and secure.

We've seen Google add a few different games and tricks to its homepage over the past year or so, but we love the latest festive trick, which sees snow fill up the homepage if you type 'let it snow' into the search bar.
If it fills up too much though you can quickly hit the 'defrost' button to get rid of all the snow!
