Holiday Gift Guide: Retro phones for her
Even though we all depend on our cell phones more than any other gadget, that doesn't mean we can't dress up our home phones a little too.
Here's our pick of five quirky retro phones designed for the home (and one for a computer too), which will make ideal presents for girlfriends, wives, sisters and moms this Christmas.
Scandiphone Retro Telephone
Based on a design from the 1950s, the Scandiphone is a quirky gift for retro lovers.
Available from ThinkGeek for $59.99.
Grand Cordless Phone
A range of cute candy coloured phones, which have caller ID, handset pager and number storage features. For an extra $7 you can get one personalised too.
Available from Pottery Barn for $99.
Trim Phone Turquoise
This device is based on a popular Trim phone, which stands for Tone Ringer Illuminated Model, and was the first kind to ring using an electronic warbler rather than a traditional bell. You learn something new everyday! However, it's got push button dialling so you don't get too impatient.
Available from Wild and Wolf for £35.
Now this device is a bit different, as it's a retro handset that you can use with your phone or computer. It seems a bit useless (and in many ways it is), but it'd make an ideal quirky gift.
Available from Native Union for $29.90.
Pottery Barn Grand Phone
A classic design from Pottery Barn in black or chrome.
Available from Pottery Barn for between $59 and $79.
