Will you sign up to Stanford's new AI course?
Stanford University is set to launch a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) introductory course online this fall.
The course, run by Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norwig, both key figures in the AI community, will take place online alongside another class also being run on the Stanford University campus.
The course will begin with an overview of AI and then include a range of introductory topics, such as statistics, machine learning, Markov models and much more.
Online students who are not attending Stanford are still able to sign up for free, and although they won't get any credits from the university, they will get a certificate acknowledging that they've completed the course. It looks as if more than 50,000 have signed up already!
Although the same course has been available to Stanford students for some time now, it's amazing to see such a prestigious institution open up its high standard of teaching to the wider public and give anyone access to an extremely interesting, topical and rapidly changing subject area.
