GreenGoose turns everyday tasks into a game
More and more aspects of our lives are being turned into games with the use of technology, look at Foursquare and SCVNGR, simple location-based mobile apps which reward you for checking-in or completing tasks.
However, it now seems as if mobile gaming could be taken to a whole new level by GreenGoose, which aims to turn every aspect of your life into a game!
Not only does GreenGoose have gaming apps, but it sells kits containing sticky, wireless sensors and a base station to keep track of all of your actions so they can be added to an online game.
The company's latest app aims to turn looking after your dog into a game, so expect to be rewarded for feeding it and taking it a walk. Does this remind anyone else of the Tamagotchi?
This is a great idea in many ways and utilizes some pretty impressive RFID technology, but I wonder what will happen to the way we view everyday tasks if they're suddenly all turned into games? Shouldn't we want to feed our dog, because, you know, it's a pet and it's alive, not because we might get a virtual medal for it.
