Robotic mannequin makes online shopping easier
Virtual fitting room fits.me aims to show online shoppers exactly how their clothing will look on a mannequin of the same dimensions. The system has been available to male shoppers for some time, but it's only recently been launched for women because according to the developers, the female form is more detailed.
The robotic mannequin has artificial muscles which are able to change in size and shape in order to mimic the dimensions of the shopper.
We've written about the new kinds of body scanners that have been used to accurately measure shoppers in stores before, but this is the first time we've seen a similar concept being used for online shopping.
There's an ever increasing proportion of shoppers turning to online shopping, so it makes sense for retailers to make the customer experience as efficient as possible.
