Bing Your Britain blogger competition
Last weekend I was invited to an all day blogger competition on behalf of the popular Microsoft search engine, Bing.
As photography plays such a central role on the Bing home page, the team at Bing decided it'd be a good idea to send everyone off on a crazy, all day photography competition!
After being given lunch, cupcakes, a cute little Bing bag and a professional photography lesson, all of the bloggers were let loose on London and had to return later in the day to submit photos to one of the five main categories, Secret Britain, Local Britain, Night Britain, Urban Britain and Natural Britain. Some seem pretty obvious, right? But others were a little ambiguous, after all what would you take a picture of in central London that would be 'secret'?
After a day spent running around London with a camera all of the bloggers returned for judging!
Unfortunately none of my photographs made the cut, but there were some fantastic entries from other bloggers, which all really captured a sense of what Britain is about for them.
The blogger event is part of a wider competition here in the UK called Your Britain, which invites anyone to submit a photograph of scenes from their Britain to be in with a chance of winning a huge cash prize and most importantly seeing their image take pride of place on the Bing home page!
Here are some of the winning photos from the blogger day:
