FS-500 Pocket Film Scanner from Yashica

If you’ve recently been looking to let go of a lot of your old analog film baggage, then we advice you to turn your gaze at the USB Pocket Film Scanner from Yashica.
The FS-500 USB film scanner can easily get you through all the film that's been dusting around in your attic since ages. How ? Firstly, it is anything but portable - it weighs just around 515g and measures 95 × 95 × 170mm in size. Plus, it has a maximum resolution of 1800dpi (3600dpi image completion) and is compatible with most photo editing software. And best of all, it is completely USB powered, so you only need a connection to your PC to get the job done.
But hey don't jump just yet, the limitations are aplenty - the fella's not compatible with OS-es that have been "upgraded", or for that matter with any OS other than Win XP/Vista (32-bit). And though the specs say that it is compatible with USB2.0, the scanner doesn't work with a connection sourced through a hub either. If that too doesn't bother you much, the greatest limitation is only geographical - the device is currently available only in Japan. Boo-hoo.
