Bang & Olufsen brings in the 40-inch LCD HDTV with the BeoVision 8 series

Keep your fingers crossed for the next-in-line Bang & Olufsen LCD TV to be released after their much sought-after 26-inch and 32-inch versions - the bigger (and better) 40-inch entry level BeoVision 8 LCD TV.
Though Bang & Olufsen has only announced the specifications of the 40-inch version, you can be sure that it comes with their usual brand of stylishness and complete elegance. The latest BeoVision 8 sports a grand 1920 x 1080 resolution, 100Hz refresh rate, 500 cd/m2 brightness, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 6msec response time, and reduced LCD blur. In addition, it includes a "contrast improvement technology" that optimizes the screen contrast based on the picture content in each scene. And needless to say, the audio quality can be safely assumed to be superlative as well - the bass speaker faces downwards to provide a firm foundation for movies and music programs, while the front speaker units are tuned specifically for authentic reproduction of human speech.
There is no word on the release just yet but expect the pricing to draw some blood, sweat and tears from common folks like us.
