Kindle 2 - How to get yours first
The new Kindle isn't available until February 24th, but reportedly pre-orders are going through the roof at Amazon. Here's some information from the site to put owners of the original Kindle at the front of the line for the new version:

As expected, the Kindle 2, the second generation of Amazon's wildly succesful wireless reader, is slimmer at 1/3 of an inch (as thin as most magazines); is lighter (only 10.2 ounces) about the same weight as a paperback; reads more like real paper with 16 shades of gray; has more storage (holds over 1,500 books); and - hallelujah! - has longer battery life. But most impressive is the new "Read-to-Me" feature: Kindle can read every book, blog, magazine, and newspaper out loud to you, a godsend for some people. Considering a reading device is only as good as the supply, Amazon has added more books, blogs (such as Popgadget and Babygadget), international newspapers, and magazines to the library. At $9.99 for most New York Times Best Sellers and new releases, you'll quickly recoup the cost of the device.
