Would you wear cigarette chic?
I'm all in favor of recycled art and clothing, especially when the end product is gorgeous. One of the most impressive ideas I've ever seen is designer Alexandra Guerrero's project to turn cigarette butts into wool. She uses a special purification process which makes the butts safe to wear, and shreds them to make the wool-like textile in the picture above.
So far she has repurposed 5000 cigarette butts, all of which she found on streets of her hometown of Santiago de Chile. But I'm sure she wouldn't mind if everyone stopped smoking (or at least used a trash can) and she wasn't able to collect any more...
