CES : Kensington New Gadgets

We've seen our share of computer mice, but this is one of our favorite new ones -- the SlimBlade TrackBall by Kensington which they demonstrated at CES.. Not only does it look stunningly modern on your desk, but once you get used it, it's speedy and comfortable. Just choose a navigation mode to control cursor and scrolling, for instance, "media mode" controls volume, play/pause, stop, and track forward/backward, while "view" mode zooms in/out, and pans. Multi-function ball lets you easily navigate through music, pictures and documents using media or "document view" mode. Mac & PC compatible, including Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Mac OS X . Not cheap at $129 but worth it if you spend your life with a mouse. Available at Kensington.

AT CES, Kensington was showing off their new "Pocket-Booster" for cell phones which would be darned handy in case of an emergency (read: anytime your cell phone dies.) Small enough to fit in your pocket, the Booster provides up to 3 hours of extended talk time on your mobile/smart phone, and can be used while you talk, and you can even switch out the three rechargeable AAA batteries to power wireless mice and other devices. Use with any USB cable to recharge mobile devices like your cell phone, MP3 player and more. $24.99 at Kensington or Amazon.

Kensington Hands-Free Visor Car Kit for iPhone and Bluetooth Phones is simplicity re-designed. Clip it on your car's sun visor and pair with your iPhone or Bluetooth enabled phone for one-touch speed dialing of your three favorite numbers.Seriously, how many numbers do we need daily? (Unless you're a teenager and then all bets are off.) Up to 20 hours of talk time (10 hours per battery). Includes two rechargeable battery packs so one is always charged and ready to go.
Available for pre-order for $119 at Kensington.
