I love fall, but winter makes me a little sad. In fact, it makes me SAD: like millions of others, I experience seasonal affected disorder every year at this time due to the lack of sunlight.
One of the things that can help SAD sufferers is a light box which emits a very strong light (more than 10,000 Lumens, whatever they are) but such boxes can be very expensive.
I never thought that they were something an amateur could make at home but it turns out I was wrong. Lifehacker this week linked to instructions to make your own lightbox, as written by an Austrian blogger called Boris Le Gradic. This would cost a fraction of the cost of buying one retail, and emits a whopping 16,000 Lumens (again, whatever they are) so there’s no excuse for not shining a little light onto your problem.
Unless you’re really bad with a drill, I guess.
