Wireless USB hard drive from Imation

Tired of cable clutter ? Some respite may come to you during Q4 of this year which will see launch of the first certified wireless external hard drive – the Apollo Pro WX wireless USB hard-drive from Imation. If you are wondering about lesser transfer speeds, well don’t – the device uses wireless technology that not only ensures the speed of a normal USB hard-drive, but also the data security that comes with a physical USB memory.
The Pro WX comes with a swivel stand for vertical or horizontal orientation and the added adavantage of automatic backup of your data, photos, music and videos. Expected to be available in a wireless range of 30ft and storage capacities between 250GB and 1TB for an as-yet undisclosed price. BetaNews reports that the device will be compatible only with Kensington's four-port Wireless USB Docking Station and a couple of Dell laptop models (XPS and Latitude) when it launches.
