Slotmusic: an album on an SD card

I think the main reason this news appeals to me is that it's off-the-scale CUTE. Yes, I can be that easily bought.
Storage device company Sandisk has announced the imminent launch of music on
SD cards: instead of a CD, you could buy music on a teeny-weeny little SD and be listening to er, The White Stripes (are they still cool?), via your cell phone, your car, your computer's SD slot, or... well, I guess that's about it.
The question is, given that many of us have MP3 players... why bother? Still, Sony BMG, Universal, EMI and Warner obviously think this idea has legs, as they've all agreed to release albums on the new format.
Shiny Shiny reports that a full list of albums available will be released before Christmas and I have to admit I will be tempted to get at least one, for the cuteness factor alone. Dammit.
