HTC extends its Touch smartphone family

Expect more keeping-up-with-the-Joneses from HTC as it introduces new entrants Touch 3G and Touch Viva touchscreen smartphones.

While the UI of both the phones continue to render finger-touch navigation using TouchFlo technology, the Touch 3G scores with broadband Internet access of up to 7.2Mbps. It also has a sharper 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS and microSD memory. Being readied for release in early October 2008, the 3G will be available in “sophisticated black, noble gold, sparkle blue and modern brown,” and is expected to cater primarily to the European market.

The Touch Viva is being targeted at the budget sector and therefore - you guessed right – will be the more affordable of the duo. Budget also implies that you will have an “optimized” Internet experience, and a lower resolution camera at 2.0-megapixels. The Touch Viva also boasts wifi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and microSD memory. It is expected to hit the market at around the same time as the Touch 3G.
