Reduce your energy bills with the Belkin Conserve Surge Protector

belkin-surge-protector.jpg

Did you know that if you completely turn off your electronic equipment rather than leave them on standby mode, you can save as much as 20% on your energy bill? Well, apparently you can. But, despite knowing this, being the couch potato that I am, I really don't have the patience to switch off each appliance individually. The idea therefore, of having a device like the Belkin Conserve Surge Protector, is very appealing - with this device, you can shut off 6 devices at once just by flicking its remote.

The surge protector has 8 outlets, of which 6 can be controlled by a handy remote. Just stick the remote to any wall of your home and switch off the huge button on it - this will ensure that the devices connected to the surge protector are automatically shut down. Simple, isn't it? Well, my advice is - if you want to verify that the savings on your energy bill is really 20% - you should practice switching off unused appliances manually for a period of time. It might even save you the $50 that you might end up spending on the Belkin Surge Protector which is due to be released in May this year.
