giant-chiller.jpg

Made of high-quality acrylic that looks like crystal, it can hold up to four bottles in ice, but can also be used as a punch bowl or to hold snacks. Sells for $270 at Hammacher Schlemmer. (Hoyun)

(Brian)

porsche-champagne-storage.bmp
Champagne tower
Looking like the monolith in the movie "2001" this is actually a fancy fridg for champagne. Just 15 of these Champagne tower chillers, with room for a dozen magnums in individual, lit drawers, have been designed for Veuve Cliquot by Porsche Design. It runs $70,000, but hey, that includes a flight of 12 classic Veuve Clicquot magnums, starting with the 1955 vintage and ending with 1995. At almost seven feet, it doesn't fit in my kitchen, but I could park it in the driveway with a l-o-n-g extension cord? Via Gizmodo. (Evan)

alienwarenotebook2.jpg
Alienware Area-51 m9750 Gaming Laptop
For the hardcore gamer who's attached to their desktop- make their obsession portable with an Alienware Area-51 m-series laptop. The Area 51 has up to 4 GB of memory, an Nvidia Geforce Go 950 7950 graphics card with 512 mb of video memory, 7.1 high-def audio, and a widescreen 17" display, but still only weighs just 8.5 lbs. And with Alienware's "stealth black" coating, scratches and fingerprints are a thing of the past. Starts at $2799. (Mia)

isistoilet.jpg
Isis Toilet
This gives new meaning to sitting on the throne, 'cause this one might actually be fit for a king or queen! Designer Jemal Wright has designed what is surely the poshest potty. Encrusted with Swarovski crystals, this little number makes your cushioned toilet seat pale in comparison. Should this not provide you with enough glitz, a matching sink and tub are available to round out the set and really put a sparkle in your powder room. I have to wonder what the recommended cleaning instructions are... then again, if I could afford this, I guess I wouldn't be the one worrying about it. Available through the Jemal Wright website. $75,000. (Brian)

segagrandpioan.jpg
Sega Grand Pianist mini grand piano
Perhaps your favorite pianist already has a well-loved piano, but probably not one that weighs just 8 lbs, but is fully playable. Sega's Grand Pianist is more of a music box, with 100 tunes built-in (the keys move when the tunes play) but there are 88 keys, which all work. Amusingly, it comes with a tiny bench, so if you have a hamster or a chihuahua, you can sit them in it and pretend they're giving a concert. Ridiculous and adorable. $549 from Audiocubes. (Mia)

aerionjet.jpg
Aerion Supersonic private jet
With the Concorde now a thing of the past, jetting to Paris from New York for dinner and back in the same evening is no more. As the private jet becomes more and more the standard among the jet set (pun intended), the next, best thing was bound to come along... the private supersonic jet. Accommodates up to 12 passengers to whisk them around the globe at Mach 1.6, this will certainly meet the need for speed. Advanced orders being taken now by Aerion. A mere $80,000,000, with $250,000 deposit due on order. (Brian)

d2-speakers.jpg
D2-ISO-5XCT Series Speakers
This premium offering from the D2 line of speakers offer cutting edge design and sound quality. Coming in black, white and silver finishes, the speakers are sold at High Tech Living for around $20,000. (Ray)

mini-mercedes-luxury.jpg
Miniature Merceces Benz
What little kid wouldn't like to see this hot pink mercedes parked under their tree? It comes with a 6-volt rechargeable battery,so you can zoom around town. Sadly, it's not street legal, so street racing is out with the other Barbie Jeep driver on your block. $450. (Evan)

vertu-gift-phone.jpg
Vertu Diamond Phone
The Vertu Signature Diamond Phone works in more than 150 countries and look at those 7.2 carat white and pink diamonds. Of course that's 18-kt. rose gold. 24-hour global concierge service? But of course. With only 100 available, you don't risk bumping into someone with the same phone. I heard Katherine Heigl has one, but we don't run in the same circles. And daarlink,it was only $73,000! Available from the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. (Evan)

eco-house-plan.jpg
Eco-friendly house plan
For your friend who has everything except an eco-friendly home, how about this Environmental House Plan, a product of a collaboration between Clean Air Gardening and Virtual Architect? Designed for energy savings and sustainability, as well as flexibility for different needs, the complete blueprints sell for $1,895 (partial plans are also available). (Hoyun)

sundae-luxury-list-serendipity.jpg
Haute chocolate
If you'd like to EAT your Christmas gift you may as well blow it on the $25,000 "Frrozen Haute Chocolate" sundae which is a fine blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from all around the world. No surprise, it just earned a Guinness world record for the most expensive dessert. The dessert is adorned with 5 grams of edible 23-karat gold and is dished up in a goblet lined with edible gold. The base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The dessert is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home. The $25,000 chocolate sundae has been made by Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3 restaurant in partnership with a luxury jeweler. Here's a better idea, just pick up some of this lovely edible gold from Easy Leaf Products and sprinkle it all over your Häagen-Dazs. 25 bucks. (Evan)

panaplasm.jpg
Panasonic 65" Plasma HDTV
Flat panel LCD and plasm screens are becoming more and more common as prices come down, but a 65" screen is still a breathtaking sight, especially when it's displaying High-definition programming through its built-in HDTV tuner. With this size and clarity, even Halle Berry won't come through a flaw inspection unscathed. $9000 from Best Buy. (Mia)

velocipede.jpg
Velocipede human-powered vehicle
This aerodynamic 3-wheeled vehicle is essentially a recumbent bike, but is the first human-powered vehicle built on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis (the material used for Formula 1 automobiles). It weighs just 60 pounds, and is custom made to fit the rider's body -- for $14,000 from Hammacher Schlemmer.
