Fruit-specific melon ballers

Do a lot of people actually ball their melons? (And despite how it sounds, I mean that innocently.) I ask because I've never eaten a melon ball in my life. In fact, I've never even seen a ball of melon in person.
Am I just a country mouse for eating melons in chunks or right off the rind? Do more civilized city mice refuse to eat cantaloupe and honeydew unless they're uniformly spherical? If so, then I guess these melon ballers from Gourmac ($3.50 each), with their polyresin handles bearing the likeness of the fruit they are meant to ball, are probably already in the drawers of many kitchens in the city.
Me? I can't be bothered keeping track of which goes with which. I'm still trying to figure out why the cantaloupe handle looks like walnuts.

These are a little over the top--and I speak as a person who actually made my roommate go get a melon baller so I could make fruit salad this summer. I like them to make slightly easier bites...chunks can get messy.
But then--I also have been known to carve watermelon bowls and fill them with various types of fruit.
