Discovery alarm clock: Galileo would love this one

discovery-clock-1.jpg

Personally, as someone who really appreciates sleep, I'm not sure that I've ever been moved by the words "cool alarm clock." There's nothing about an alarm clock that seems cool. Jarring - yes, annoying - yes, bad timing - definitely yes.

However, perfect for the newly darkening fall/winter mornings, this little guy created by Discovery lives up to "cool" and its name, "Discovery Space Projection Alarm Clock." This little guy projects galactic images (you choose: Full Moon, Starry Sky, or Saturn) on any ceiling or wall. Its built-in alarm clock will rouse you to one of 3 digital spaceship sounds: Transport, Ping, or Analyze. The clock has amber LED backlight illumination, the traditional 9-minute (not enough) snooze button, date/time display, memory backup, and manual focusing knobs.

Perfect for the budding scientist, astronaut, Galileo dreamer in your life (be she/he 9 or 39).

Price: $29.99 at Discovery.com, and also available at Amazon..
