Hoyun just posted about the gorgeous Cool Globe (apparently only available in Sweden at this point) which keeps food cold via an "exchangeable cooling device."

Until we can get our hands on one of those babies, here's a great alternative, the OGGI Hot/Cold Thermo Tray from Sur La Table.

It works by using a heat-sensitive gel core that keeps cold food chilled and hot food warmed for hours. To heat, place tray in oven for up to 6 minutes; to cool, place in refrigerator for up to 2 hours. Crafted of 18/8 stainless steel for easy care. Just don't stick it in the dishwasher.
