Oliso Frisper Freshkeeper : Just seal it
Looking around for a vacuum sealer that combines good design and great performance ? Well, I was doing just that when I came across the Oliso Frisper Freshkeeper. And the specs seem pretty promising. For one, I love the sleek oval shape of the vacuum sealer that restricts the form factor to a comfortable level, unlike most other sealers that I have used (and thrown away in disgust). The patent-pending design ensures that usage is simple as well – just fill the specially designed Vac-Snap bag (included in the package) with the product that you want to vacuum seal, place it under the Frisper lid and you are done. The device accomplishes the vacuum sealing by creating a zipped closure along pre-designated spots of the bag. Which means, you are not only spared from positioning the sealer (how frustrating that can get) but are able reuse the bag again. The bags, which are also separately available in gallon and quart sizes, are multi-layer and non-porous, and protect food from freezer burn. Works for me.
The Frisper is available for a reasonable $79.95 along with a year’s warranty from Sharper Image.

Lent my foodsaver to a friend and she loved it so I let her keep it. I bought the Frisper because it was small and I liked the idea of reusable bags. After 9 tries I got it to work. Came back 20 minutes later and the bag was full of air. Tried a few more times, packed it up, returned it to the store and bought another foodsaver.
