Monopoly: Pink boutique edition

Because girls are too busy painting their nails to understand things like real estate, Hasbro has chosen Toys R Us as the exclusive distributor of an all-pink boutique edition of Monopoly that swaps the traditional green houses and red hotels with pink and purple boutiques and malls.
Other thoughtful feminizing touches include pink Title Deed cards, Instant Message and Text Message instead of Community Chest and Chance cards, and a keepsake box that doubles (of course) as a jewelry box. Oh, and the thimble, dog, and all the other way-too-masculine playing pieces have been replaced with sandals, a purse, hair dryer, and other objects that girls can recognize.
The best part is that furthering gender stereotypes only costs $22.49. What a deal!

Right. This is wonderful! Obviously girls can't be successful in business. We're only suitable to be in the kitchen with our pink heels and pink aprons, jumping on top of our pink kitchen chairs and screaming as a very not-pink mouse runs by.
I'm quite sick of companies taking the same old product and "girlifying" it. Who says we only buy pink things? Is there some research to back this up? They probably only asked the floozies.

As far as the pink monopoly games goes my neice is crazy about it and she is 10 and my sister inlaw that is 22 loves it, this coming from a family that has a real estate company. That the women play very powerful postions of power . So being pink just makes us all feel good and we are still sucessful.
