Klikk camera stand
With high quality digital cameras getting smaller all the time, the idea of lugging around a heavy, old-fashioned tripod seems ludicrious. The Italian-designed Klikk camera stand, at first glance, looks and feels so insubstantial, I couldn't imagine that it's designed to hold a camera. But the larger stand handles even my 35mm Canon Rebel XT (though it's not marketed for use with larger cameras), and the smaller one holds any of my smaller digital cameras. The camera angle can be adjusted up or down 18 degrees (see how to use demo). Made of "indestructible ABS." the Klikk is so small and light, you can throw it in your purse or carry it in the included pouch without noticing the weight. The stands are also designed to serve a second purpose - to protect the camera face when not in use (which would work with most smaller digital cameras - see the demo here).
Available on the Klikk website for $14.99 Euros (no information on retailers in the U.S.).
