I'm not much into watching videos on portable devices, so my iPod of choice for the past eight months has been in my red iPod nano with 8GB of storage, which I thought was plenty of storage for me. Unlike other members of my family, I'm not a music glutton so don't feel like I need to carry around three decades of music at all times. But then I started getting into listening to books on my nano from Audible.com (I don't actually "read" books anymore), and it turns out that I am a glutton for audible books (I don't know why, but I lower my standards when choosing audio books over actual books).
So, I'm now tempted to upgrade to the Creative Zen V Plus after hearing about their new 16 GB model. That's double the storage of the nano. And at 43.5 grams in weight, it's nearly as light as a nano, if a bit fatter. The battery life is about 15 hours to the nano's 24 or more, but it has a few additional features that I wouldn't mind having:
- voice recorder
- line-in cable for recording from a CD player or other source without a computer
- built-in microphone
- FM radio
Priced at $250 at Creative Zen. (This post originally stated the price at $399, which Jenn pinted out was in Singapore dollars.)
