Hello Kitty to the rescue!
It's so hard to put a happy face on a disaster. However: Danger, fear, and uncertainty will all melt away in the presence of this cute little emergency generator from Sanrio. We didn't really need any more proof that you can sell anything simply by putting Hello Kitty on it, but here it is.
This little device features a hand crank generator used to power all sorts of sundry built-in features. If you get tired of turning the crank there’s a little port in the side that can accept a 9-volt battery to power all the necessaries. Beyond the non-electronic compass there's a cable for recharging your cell phone, an LED flashlight, a good ol' fashioned AM/FM radio, and an emergency alarm for scaring off post-apocalyptic zombies or signaling rescuers.
Although, let's call a spade a spade: If things really get so bad that your life depends on a Hello Kitty emergency device there probably aren't any rescuers coming.
The hat tip on this post comes from a delightfully wonderful blog entitled Hello Kitty Hell. It’s the story of one brave soul whose wife is determined to fill his home with every type of Hello Kitty product known to man. His blog is a record, nay, an earnest chronicle of his daily fight against the forces of the little white cat from Nippon.
And it’s pretty hilarious to think of some exasperated guy living in a Hello Kitty decorated house.
