Convert slides and negatives to digital

slide-to-digital.jpg

Just what I need to convert all those disintegrating photos from the 70s and 80s - now residing precariously in my parents' damp basement - into digital photos that my whole family can have. The Slide and Negative to Digital Picture Converter, available at Hammacher Schlemmer for $99.95, takes 35mm slides and negatives and converts them to digital images that you can crop, edit and resize with the included software. It connects to your computer via USB cable for both image transfer and power.

It beats the alternative -- taking old photos to a service to convert. With my own machine, I can also edit as I go and wipe out all those photos of me from the unfortunate decade of high-waisted jeans and shoulder-padded jackets.
