USB drive neck strap

This one illustrates Kanchana's observation that because USB drives have become as commonplace as paper clips, companies are packaging them in ways that give them other real or perceived uses. Of course, some makers have gone the other route of just dressiing them as animals or food, or having the USB storage as a secondary feature of a cool novelty, designer item like those Mimobots from Mimoco.

The USB drive neck strap falls under the utilitarian category of products that happen to feature USB storage. I like to hang everything around my neck (in the geek-to-cool spectrum, I figure this is just one level up from hanging things around my belt loop), and I'd use this strap to hang my keys and my cell phone when I'm just out for a walk (though I probably wouldn't hang my big fat Blackberry on it -- that would look stupid and weigh my neck down). Why I would need the neck strap to have USB storage in it, I don't know (maybe on the off chance that while I'm walking down the street, I run into a venture capitalist who wants to see my business plan right then and there?). The USB neck strap with 2GB memory is available for $38 from usb.brando.com.hk.

I love this idea. It is useful as a memory device, key-chain, Lanyard. I could not lose mine so often with this.
