Moppels

Meet the Moppel family, a little bent perhaps but very handy. With his LED Head and flexible appendages and magnetic feet, Mr. Block Man Space can shine light anywhere, while holding pens and grabbing notes with his alligator-clip left hand. The powerful foot magnets let this wireless Moppel hold tight to desktops, metal filing cabinets, refrigerators, anything metal. Great for late night studying, reading in bed, in the garage, or even in the car.

Super-efficient LED technology means batteries (9volt battery included) last more than 100 hours, or there's a handy USB connector to plug into your computer. The company is billing them as "eco-friendly lights" because they consume very little power and the LEDs never have to be replaced.

There are 10 different versions, including DINO the dinosaur, my favorite. My only quibble is that the light stream is not very strong, making it difficult for intricate tasks.

$24.99 at Lights and Knives, 'cause if you're looking for a light, you probably want a good knife to go along with it.

Dan:

I went to Lights and Knives, and the Block Man Space model (shown) takes one 9volt battery, not 3 AA's. I was wondering where 3 AA's would fit on that skinny thing! :) And just a thought, I'd suggest listing their names as listed on their website, as the names you gave them made them less attractive than their real ones. They're not Mr. Block Man or DINO the dinosaur. They're Block Man Space and Dino Moppel! I'm more inclined to buy something called Block Man Space than Mr. Block Man...aren't you?
