The Newton milk and sugar set from Finnish company Tonfisk Design proves once again that the best design ideas take something routine and, with a simple twist, greatly improve on that routine action. Like figuring out how to put the sugar and cream in the same container, so you don't have to fiddle with multiple containers when you're fixing your coffee or tea, but neatly designed so that the sugar will never plop into the cream.

It's all a matter of balance, really. The Newton always keeps the sugar bowl component more or less on an even plane as the container is tilted to pour out the cream. It only remains to be seen if it works as well with granulated sugar or if this is a sugar cube-only device.
