Thanko iBlueTube
There is some solid science behind the idea of using tubes to carry sound waves (check out our review of the Miglia speakers), but I'd be lying if I said audiophile sound is what attracted me to the iBlueTube, a docking station for iPods that adopts 2 Philips "6922" vacuum tubes. It just looks so strange, with the 2 bright blue LED lights, but according to the website, the speaker vacuum tubes have a frequency of 20Hz - 30kHz, a signal-noise ratio of 80db, and an output of 12W x 2 ch. Works with iPod (3rd Gen.), Mini, Nano, Picture, and Video, and includes USB terminal, S-video output, and RCA stereo output.
Not bad, but at $445, I'd want to hear it first. Available at Audio Cubes.
