Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG65 pocket camcorders
Next month in Japan, Sanyo will be welcoming a new addition to its Xacti line of digital cameras and camcorders. It's called the DMX-CG65 and it's a cute little thing. But don't let its tiny measurements fool you. Even though it's just 3.9" x 1.4" x 2.7", the $425 device can certainly hold its own against a lot of much bigger camcorders on the market.
For starters, it's got a 6-megapixel CCD sensor with 5x optical zoom (already better than my Sony Cyber-shot). It can also record VGA videos in MPEG-4/H.264 format at 30 frames per second, support SDHC memory cards (up to 8GB), and charge via USB to provide over an hour of video recording and more than three hours of playback on its 2.5" display.
The DMX-CG65 will be offered in silver, black, and green models in Japan, but I wouldn't be surprised to see other colors if/when it becomes available in the U.S.
