Music in the Rain

1music5.jpg

We recently wrote about the 2+1 table and chair ensemble from Korean design collective, SDesignUnit, on Babygadget. A look through their other projects revealed other interesting concepts like this audio umbrella with handle as controller. It's simple really; open the umbrella to start your own rainy day soundtrack and close the umbrella to stop it. Twist the handle left or right to fast forward or reverse. The dome of the umbrella creates a natural enclosement for personal sound, but when you're not caught in the rain, you can still enjoy your music by hooking it on the cradle at home.

Never mind that details such as volume control are not outlined here; just the thought of taking a leisurely stroll with music on a relatively balmy rainy day such as this one in NYC made me smile.
