Lamp/Lamp light bulb

How's this for a bright idea?
Designer Hironao Tsubui created the oddly named Lamp/Lamp that not only functions as a head-scratching conversation piece but also eliminates the need for an expensive sconce or chandelier. The 30W light bulb is made of handblown glass and is available now for about $18 at Japan-based 100%.

Funny! But very unfortunate that whitty designers of today stilluse those oldfashioned lightbulbs in their designs. This would have been cool (something which lightbulbs aren't, because they use 90% of their energy to produce heat) somewhere 30 years ago.
It's actually the same thing that goes up for these lamps:

@oliver: Old fashioned lamps look better. Just like old fashioned cars and old fashioned architecture looks better, both of which are less efficient but frankly the more efficient something gets the uglier it gets.
