Keep your valuables in the fridge

Unless those thieves stop to fix themselves a fresh salad (ransacking probably works up a healthy appetite, after all), this Iceberg Lettuce Safe ($49) may be the perfect spot to stash your most prized possessions.

Your treasures had better be small (and mold-resistant), though, as the bottom opening is only 1.75 inches in diameter. Oh, and make sure to keep the safe in the crisper drawer, okay? A head of lettuce at the back of the closet or under the mattress is a tad suspicious.

Be nice if ONE of the many sites pushing this product actually showed that the picture is more than just a head of lettuce? How about showing the "safe" open? Right now it just looks like a big hoax (you know, of the type: buy a head of lettuce for $50 with instructions on how to dig out the core or something).
