Globalsat TR-101 mobile phone & GPS

gsat_personaltracker.jpg

While looking like something that Jack Bauer carries with him at all times, this is actually a Globalsat TR-101, which is basically a GSM mobile phone and GPS combination. The advantage is that you can automatically send its location by either text message or phone call just by hitting one of the three predial keys or by ringing/texting it remotely. One minute it's a quad-band cellphone, the next it's a location device which pinpoints someone on Google Earth. For added security, a single push of the panic button will send 3 SMS messages to 3 different mobile phones with the user's location. Good for kids or when you take Grandpa to Disneyland.

It’s available in the UK for £149.98 ($290) from Maplin, which claims it works all over the world.
