Crumpler Bags From OZ
Story of a bag: The first thing I thought when I saw the blue-and-white striped bag was ,"Ooohhhh, handsome!" The second thing was, "Ooohh, expensive!" ($110). And then, when I got the bag I realized it was so well-made that it was worth the money. Happy ending.
Made by the Australian company, Crumpler, it comes with these specs:
"Water resistant 100D Nylon shell & 420D Ripstop Nylon lining, 3 x internal front pockets, adjustable main strap w/ Quick Flick TM buckle, velcro release flap, strap trap accessory loop, 1 colour way available, limited edition of 1000 pieces, embroidered with inscription and individually sequentially numbered. This is a bare essential messenger style personal/day bag, uniquely styled with wrap-around stripes."
Three former bike messengers, Dave Roper, Will Miller and Stuart Crumpler, created Crumpler in Melbourne in 1995. Started accidentally when they couldn't find messenger bags they liked -- or would take the "thrashing" necessary -- they soon branched out into designing bags for laptops, photo, video and mobile devices. Photographers love their bags because of their durability and compartments.
This particular messenger bag has a multitude of uses, from cooler bag for some frosties, or a laptop bag, or even a messenger or school bag, with handy pockets inside for pencils, pens, whatever. And since it's a limited editon 10th anniversary bag, there's little chance you're going to bump into someone on the street with the same one (the horror!).
For fun, check out their website, Crumpler.
