Apple TV now shipping

apple-tv.jpg

If you've ever dreamed about watching all those TV shows and movies you got from iTunes on that new widescreen TV in your living room without a mess of cables and docks, then consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Your dreams have come true!

The Apple TV automatically syncs and streams your entire iTunes library over a wireless connection to a widescreen enhanced- or high-definition TV, allowing you to do everything you already do on your iPod (except play games) on a big screen. Movies, slideshows, and music are fine on a 2.5-inch screen that fits in your pocket. And they're pretty good on a 17- to 23-inch computer monitor. But you can bet that they're absolutely amazing on a 1080i HDTV that spans the length of your living room.

Available now with free shipping for $299.

Hmmm, I'm not sure that a Movie that was made to look good on an iPod Screen will look all that fabulous on a 42" HDTV display..

It's probably going to look like total crap :)

Evan:

While this is just an initial version we are really exicited about the future of Apple TV.

Just wanted to let your readers know that our site http://www.hungryflix.com provides indie films and videos that are compatible with Apple TV.

Our movies start at just $0.99.

We are really excited that independent filmmakers and producers now have a direct path from web distribution directly to the family room. Very cool.

Over at Highbrid Nation we have been talking the Apple TV and how unimpressed we are with it. I just don't believe that most people will be able to get much out of it. Too many issues to deal with. I'll likely be a while before I make such an investment.
