Who says home accessories can't be customised to their surroundings or just to suit your mood? The Birzi lamp is made of silicone and can be twisted every which way to take on a new shape whenever you feel like it. At its full, untouched height, it's just 10" tall with a radius of 5" at the top, and it'll sit nicely on a corner table. But where would be the fun in that? T he lamp is supposed to be damage-resistant, so bend and curl that upper lip all round --- and then bend it again on itself if that's what you feel like.

Birzi is designed for Luceplan, the Italian lighting brand that also originated such nifty devices as the Solar Bud lamp, which is powered by a battery recharged by sunlight. A full charge (5 hours in the sun) gives 13-15 hours of use - perfect for environmentally friendly garden lighting.
