Taipei Biennial 2006

The international art scene is alive and well in Taipei. I stopped by the Taipei Biennial, not knowing quite what to expect. Similar to most biennial and other big group art shows, this one was a mixed bag. However, I really loved the series "One Thousand Year Bloom" by E Chen from Taiwan. These knit pieces of everything from cacti to cinder blocks to a U.S. post office box, play with materiality and form in a fresh way.
The show closes in a few weeks on February 25, 2007. So, you still have a few weeks to make it, if you happen to be in Taiwan.
