Vessel portable Luau lamp
We've written about all sorts of portable lamps and nightlights over at Babygadget, but of the ones I've seen so far, the Luau lamp from Vessel is by far my favorite. The simple, tear drop shape emanates a soft, dimmable light that's bright enough to illuminate a tabletop, and with this wacky weather we're having in NY this winter, it wouldn't be too far fetched to have a twilight dinner outdoors. The discreet charger base allows the lamp to still function while charging and the handle is the perfect size for carrying around. I must admit, as mild a winter as we're having right now, the photos on the Luau page make me long for evening beach walks and leisurely nights on the patio (neither of which I really do, but well, you get my drift).

Thing is, much as I love Vessel design, everything of theirs that I've owned has stopped functioning within a couple of months (with the exception of one of four Candeloos). The Time Tags didn't even work when I opened the box. I'm over Vessel.
Besides, at $249, you can buy yourself a whole kalua pig for the price of the Luau Lamp.
