Hotel boxes: stylish & simple shoe storage

hotel_box.jpg

That something as simple and modest as a cardboard storage box could turn into something so stylish and elegant is rather impressive.

Danish design firm Pure Nomade has transformed the simplest of storage devices into a creative item that can become a funky piece of furniture for your indoors, the Hotel box.

Each individual box can be obtained in several different solid colors or prints. They come packaged flat, but once taken out of their wrapping can be folded into a box by sealing the extremeties with a rubberband. After you've collected a number of Hotel boxes, you can start stacking them on the floor or hanging them on the wall and express your creativity by creating your own personalized storage space. A small "window" on the side of the box lets you peek into its content at all times, which becomes very handy when you're trying to figure out what you've stored inside. Hotel boxes "can safely be stacked in up to 10 feet towers fixed through a center screw at the top of the box and they can be set up as shelves crawling along the walls by using some joints supporters, and all in between."

Individual Hotel boxes are available online at the yoyashop for $25,- each.
